In 2020, 56,358 babies were aborted in the state of Texas alone. Additionally, 29,425 babies were aborted between January and June of 2021. After the Texas Heartbeat Bill passed, abortions in Texas dropped 50% between August and September. While this is a great victory, it’s still not enough! I vow to take a stand for the unborn! It’s time to pass legislation that effectively outlaws abortion at any stage of pregnancy, but we can’t stop there. We need to bring reformation to our foster care system, and support local organizations that are actively rehabilitating and resourcing broken and struggling families. We must defend those that have no voice!
Additionally, there are more than 300,000 victims of human trafficking in Texas, including almost 79,000 minors and youth victims of sex trafficking and nearly 234,000 adult victims of labor trafficking. As operations director of The Justice Reform, an anti-human trafficking organization in Fort Worth, we are in this fight, and we plan to open the first 100 bed facility to rehabilitate victims back into society. It’s time for Texas to take a stand by supporting local organizations that are actively rescuing victims, and developing strategies to support law enforcement in their efforts to expose the darkness of human trafficking. We must speak up for those who cannot speak up for themselves!
